From Steve’s Library 08/2004
There are all kinds of bullets out there that can kill a man’s priorities and cause him to neglect his family. That’s why so many kids in your neighborhood don’t have dads. Somebody shot their paw, and it’s no laughing matter.
We can be intimidated by stupid expectations, quite frankly from our church, that we have to be there every time the door is open. And we can be intimidated by stupid expectations in our jobs that we don’t go home until seven or eight at night. That’s wrong, life is too short, gentlemen. Those kids of yours will be gone before you know it. Your opportunity to mold and shape their lives will be gone forever.
The more time you can spend with your kids, the more they are going to want to be like you and know the Heavenly Father who made you such a great dad. That’s how you lead your kids to Christ. Be there for your family and disciple those kids.
