Fathers in America have been taken out of the dating process. It’s time they quickly got back in. When my daughter was beginning to date, it meant I was beginning the dating process too. The young men who take out our daughters need to understand that we, as fathers, are going to be involved in the detail. They need to understand that it is a privilege to take out our daughters, not a right.

It might not be fashionable for a father to be involved in his daughter’s dating life, but I would suggest that is precisely why we have so much trouble now with teenage behavior. Author and former presidential cabinet member Bill Bennett, documents that since 1962 illegitimate births have risen 400%. Can you feel your hair turning grey?
