Family First

From Steve’s Library 03/06/2006

God is not in the business of asking us to consistently neglect our families in order to further His Kingdom.  How about it, guys, how are you doing with your family.

I don’t care if you’re an accountant, a truck driver, a computer programmer, a pastor, or an architect— if you have a family, it’s your job to fulfill the Great Commission.  And the heart of the Great Commission is to make disciples.  And that, my friend, is to start in our own homes.  You don’t have to sell your business and go to China to fulfill the Great Commission, but you do have to make sure you’re getting home in time to hang out with your wife and kids, because that’s how you make disciples.  Jesus was always with His disciples and they were always asking Him stupid questions.  Sounds to me like a dad with a young set of kids.  Men, it’s time to make disciples.
