Home is a Safe Place

Samuel Goldwin, the powerful chief at MGM, once called his staff together after six straight box-office flops and said, “I want you to tell me exactly what’s wrong with me and MGM, even if it means losing your job.” Well old S.G. could have used a few classes on how to motivate employees.Threatening people is not exactly the best way to build a healthy atmosphere or good relationships within a company.

Kids need strict fathers . . . who know how to lighten up and have a good time. Kids don’t need dads who are wound up so tight that everyone around them walks on eggshells, waiting for them to snap.  There are enough people walking our streets with a short fuse. Your kids don’t need the added stress of coming home and wondering about your next blowup. Standing tall means working hard to make your kids feel safe around you.
