If I were politically correct, I probably wouldn’t say anyone was ignorant. I would say he was theologically challenged.

But the fact remains, many Christians don’t understand what Scripture teaches about forgiveness. I can say this, because for a number of years I was ignorant too. Chained like an obedient elephant to my past. Every time I wanted to do something for the Lord, those old sins would rise up and slap me down. I was a Christian, but I was ignorant of what Jesus had accomplished for me on the cross.

I owed a debt I could not pay. He paid a debt he did not owe. That’s it. That’s the Gospel. Jesus paid the debt. He paid your debt, and He paid my debt. And He has paid for every sin I will commit for the rest of my life.
